Write, Grow, and Reflect
Let This Poem Be A Hand upon Your Shoulder – Online Workshops
If you’ve ever written your own poetry, kept a journal or written creatively, you already know how writing can open you up to reflection and personal exploration. This series of monthly workshops is inspired by that idea.
You may vividly remember the Covid pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. Like me, you may recall it as a time of uncertainty, isolation and fear. We were alone. Some of us were scared to meet with our family or our friends.
I wanted to find a way to help people connect. To talk about those feelings of anxiety, isolation and fear and find ways to cope. Which is how my workshops began.
Let This Poem be a Hand Upon Your Shoulder is now a monthly workshop, attended by people from all over the world. It's become a community of people who share, write and explore.
We use selected poems as our starting point for writing, reflection and conversation. In that way we explore feelings, build our resilience and connect with other participants.

Who This Workshop Is For
This workshop is for you if you would like additional personal resources. Which I feel we all do, in these challenging times. It’s for you if you enjoy creativity, journalling and writing for personal or professional development.
Even if you haven’t put pen to paper before, this workshop is still for you. All you need to do is be open to sharing. Open to reflecting on, and experimenting with, words, in our supportive environment. And you don't need to worry about spelling grammar or style.
And, if you’re wondering about the title of the workshop, it was inspired by a poem written by Deborah Cooper.
